That’s My Style

Creativity breeds innovation,

leading to productivity.

In my mind.

Colour

Orange is being splashed about because it is the official colour of ADHD, however form follows function – if your principles of design are somewhat associated with late 19th and early 20th century architecture and industrial context – so surely the style should be dictated by the functionality, yeah?

Is that easier said than done?

I’m not sure, perhaps for me it’s better to be a bit more action-led.

Throw turds at the wall and see which sticks.

Then you know it’s good turd!

Now then, back to whatever I was going to ramble on about this time…

Styling

I like blue, which I think goes quite well with orange. <– this example is a red orange highlight with indigo-blue text. Eye-catching right?

My next thought is to consider what CSS I can throw in.

Before I get ahead of myself, I’d like to consider the function over my own desire.

It’s easy to apply styles and sheets left right and centre, it’s just not justified! Right?

Freedom

I’m kind of freetyping, or just relaying a stream of consciousness from my brain via 10 fingers into your brain. I hope I’ve managed to find your mind and engage your brain with minimal retina burning.

Spontaneous posting is almost like writing a diary, whilst publicly documenting stuff & things. Being able to see how few people have potentially judged me has it’s advantages. I can refer back to past self, or point others to my content quite easily. I’d like the message to be legible and clear, but as a secondary objective perhaps easy on the eyes, maybe even nice to look at. A look & feel that is uncluttered and visually visceral could be a couple of stretch goals I’d love to throw in for good measure.

Provoking a mood, not provocatively moody.

Action!

What style is that?

Urrmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Where does that leave us in terms of the design? Perhaps you’re wondering… que?

Friendly Bullets

  • I think the very first thing to do is K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid).
  • Streamline by eliminating clutter.
  • The UX clearly satisfying.
  • Hyperlink differentiation.
  • Following guidelines.
  • Info segmentation.
  • Illustrative images.
  • Responsive.
  • Consistent.

Sincerely,

ADHDre
