My Domain Addiction

I seem to have a long-standing addiction to buying domain names. They are always for a purpose, except when they’re not. I’m going to try and off-set the cost of owning various domains (both long and short term) by listing the ones I no longer need (or bought on a whim) for sale in various online market places.

The first one to go is going to be the domain that I think has been valued highest, and has been used the least.

The domain is: restems.com

The idea was a collaboration website between myself and my good friend. As it stands you can read a bit more about the idea on the website itself.

The kind of impulsive behaviour that leads to buying domain names is not something I’m currently overly concerned about, however the time spent developing these domains, attaching a server, building a website. Well that all takes up a lot of time, and perhaps those resources could be better spent elsewhere (perhaps focusing on my health and happiness). Having a modest domain portfolio does make me happy.

There’s something about owning short and snappy .com’s and a 4 letter .co.uk and my most recent acquisition was a 5 letter .co domain with a keyword that belongs to a growing market that I just happen to be quite passionate about.

The reason I have some of these newest additions is because I wanted to explore a business idea which (if it goes well) could create some passive income for the future. Utilising my skills, experience and a little patience I’m sure I could build something profitable and meaningful, that is if I don’t get too distracted.

These are my own words from the original ADHDre blog.
