Health

I don’t normally publish a second post immediately after publishing one, but here we are!

In my last post Distractions I start to talk about one of the most important things, health.

What I forgot to do, was elaborate or even begin! Can you guess what happened? Yes, I got distracted. I think it’s quite ironic. It works though ha ha. A happy accident, and health deserves it’s very own post.

I’ve a bucket handle tear amongst other things, and most of my health issues right now all stem from the same problem, my knee. I’ve got surgery coming up in a few days, and I have decided my body is telling me to rest, as is my mind (to some extent, luckily) as is my friend (to some extent) or at least saying quite rightly that I should be in as good health as I can for surgery. Seems like good advice to me.

I was a bit gutted to be missing out on the things I wanted to do, alas I’m doing it for my health and I’m happy that I’ve made a decision that prioritises health. It’s not always something I find easy, as compromises are easily made in pursuit of short-term happiness and gains, whilst sometimes being unkind to your future self and putting your long term health & or happiness at risk of not being as good as it could be.

There, so now I’ve gotten that bit out of the way I’d like to look to the future with optimism. It’s something I think I do well, perhaps too well at times. By that I am of course covering up the negative aspect of being overly optimistic by shrouding it in yet more positivity and finding a perspective where it’s all good in the hood.

But is it good under the hood?

It’s good to know.

If not, get fixed innit.

These are my own words from the original ADHDre blog.
