September 2022. One person’s own experience, not medical advice.

Did I Take My Meds Today?

There are days when I’m about to take my daily dose of ADHD medication and I can’t remember if I have already had it or not!

It’s not always easy working out how many you had, and how many are left.

I found a simple way to help me.

Take the tablet then turn the bottle upside down.

In the evening or once a few hours have passed turn it back the right way round again.

If you try and take it again a second time in the morning forgetting you just had it, then you’ll see the bottle is upside down and that will make you at least pause for thought before knock back another!

If the bottle is the right way around and you’ve made a habit of always turning the bottle, then you have a clue that you’ve not yet taken the table that day.

What I find better though is using a treatment app. I’m currently using: https://www.mytherapyapp.com/ (opens another website in a new tab)

What I like about using the app is that I will get reminders and confirm each part of my treatment (medication and activities).

I actually combine both my simple trick along with using the app religiously and so far it works a treat!

These are my own words from the original ADHDre blog.
